Our shows for season 2011-2012

These are the shows that will be played all along the season in our theather. The descriptions below are adapted from the French version. From 24 september to 9 october 2011 | Rated 7 Years Old As it is well known, "In the pig, everything is good". This show makes no exception to the adage. We have here a comical thriller served by colourful dialogues, and, as the enemy of the inspector, a wolf. The case begins with a mysterious kidnapping. Detective Mac Goret rushes into Scam street. Weird! It´s a pig that has disappeared. Same for the first clue : a letter where one can read, "I like ham and sausages" What will follow...? "Polar pig" is a kind of "One Man´s handling Show". The actor acts as well as he manipulates puppets, playing with ten figures turned into comic-strip heroes. Serge Boulier, master of this parody inspired by the thrillers and the TV series, has already offered at the TMG "La Mer en pointillés" , Molière of the young public in 2007, and is a much appreciated fellow artist. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 10 to 19 october 2011 | Rated 1 to 3 Years Old Miss World turns like a planet or a star. In the shadow of the night or under the moonlight, the young lady sings sweet songs and offers us images of the most moving adventures. Through subtle stories she shows how her figures awake in the light, tells us how they live and how they act when the sun sets and the moon comes out. She´s generous in her large dress which folds are shelters to the most extraordinary objects filled with souvenirs. Lullabies from all over the world are transmitted from one generation to other. Interpretating songs from Egypt, Tibet, France, Sweden, and many other countries, Miss World talks about eve and sleep. Made for the young public these dreamed images and these nice songs will be remembered all their life through. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 2 to 23 november 2011 | Rated 6 Years Old Tim is a young sheep bored of grazing green pasture in a prosperous but closed field. Indeed, his flock, entirely white, refuses to have contact with any foreign animal until the day the grass runs out. Helped by accomplices the young hero will try to restore justice. This story highlights curiosity and the choice of gathering, far of all prejudice, with people that is different from us. Like any kid, Tim will discover self improvement and altruism. The puppets are moved by actors who at the same time comment this story related with the world news. Olivier Chiacchiari, has previously written for the TMG "La Cour des petits" in 2006. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 24 to 28 november 2011 | For Teens / Adults Autumn is one of the last seasons of our life on earth. It brings along its colours, forms and questions about the existence as if it appeared in a mirror. This serie of portraits offers astounding images created by rod puppets. A cobbler is surprised by the invisible presence of an angel that comes to turn for the last time the sand hourglass. A long time serene monk about to meet death lives in unrest. For more than 30 years this astonishing show created by the American Eric Bass has seduced the public all around the world. Controlled by an almighty puppeteer, the characters try to find tricks to postpone their end. "Autumn portraits" poetical approach makes it universal. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 30 november to 21 december 2011 | Rated 4 Years Old Father of four children, Mr PetitMonde is a common man who wants no trouble. He is correct, clean, and a real reluctant hero, until a feather begins to write his story. Suddenly, Mr PetitMonde leaves his family and duties to travel the world. From a one tree forest to a deserted sky, he seeks desesperately an answer to this enigma that took the aspect of a feather. Like a child questioning the world and finding astonishing answers, encounters happen here all time. In a decor that goes through a serie of metamorphosis, our man asks himself about climate change and our way of living, but he also helps widening our horizon. This show has being created for the 2007-2008 program of the TMG. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 15 to 18 december 2011 | Rated 9 Years Old Exploited by his family, the young Gribouille meets a strange character, Mr. Bourdon who invites him to his castle. The kid turns into a go-between for the Bourdon´s society and the Queen of Bees. As he refuses to dominate anyone, Gribouille is helped and protected by three human dragonflies. "Gribouille" is to french literature what "Pinocchio" is for Italy and "Alice au pays des Merveilles" for England. The adaptation in russian and french of this satirical and philosophical tale comes with an initiatory story written by Georges Sand, as well as songs and music. An impressive distribution of 37 puppets describes a society unable to share its wealth. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 10 to 22 january 2011 | For Teens / Adults Is nowadays the working sphere becoming a tragicomedy where bodies are not much more than objects ? From here on, companies get rid of their employees at an even higher rhythm. Hence, what will it be of the elderly, the weak or the less qualified ? How can we help them make their way through ? As a talents seeker, Hervé Bulle imagines a strange fabric where the excluded are gathered and turned into pieces. Between caustic irony and social observation, this social fable invented by Valerie Poirier reflects our daily life in. This play tells us that the body continues to create stories and dreams. In a surreal atmosphere, the show perfectly combines puppets with actors. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 25 january to 12 february 2011 | Rated 4 Years Old How to grow ?, asks this animated fantasy. In order to find the last trendy toy, a young girl with a great and capricious imagination introduces herself in a factory topped with amazing machines controlled by lifefull characters. On her way, she goes under a serie of metamorphosis. Will she succeed in facing adversity and discovering her proper being ? As like in subtle clockwork, the puppets and an old guardian angel that sometimes turns into a magician evolve in a decor that includes a lift. Together they deliver us a wonderful message : the most precious things can´t be bought, they are close to our hearts. Hidden behind her castle, the actress manipulates the figures and creates all their voices, maintaining the suspense throughout thrilling adventures. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 13 to 26 february 2011 | Rated 1 to 3 Years Old With a ladder and a suitcase, here is an old man wandering around dressed in a long grey sky coat. From up there he brings back lucky stars. The sun, the moon and a handful of planets meet with the kids. Than he awakes Baba, a little girl that first shows a bad mood. Will this Pierrot seduce this strong character with his tricks ? In the heart of a little theatre with a ladder reaching the sky, the ancient faces the child asking after a while for "more !" The relation between generations is undoubtedly one of our more precious gifts. A story full of poetry that gives life to small puppets manipulated with virtuosity. The few invented words look like musical composition in a show completely written with images. A creation that witnesses the evolution of grandfathers in the 21st century, with up to four generations living at the same time - the so called "mamy-boom" or "papy-boom". Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 29 february to 4 march 2011 | For Teens / Adults La Fontaine also writes about feverish jealousy, hidden pleasures and desires. In these stories and tales in verse dealing with gallant issues the naive character is often the victim of a prank, the cruelty being in this case of the situation tempered by humour and fantasy. The climax of these delicious intrigues is reached when the love affair takes finally place thanks to a trick that allows breaking the rules. The decor is mobile and made out of a woven tapestry of textile plants. Black dressed actors take to life these refined stories. Emilie Valantin Company, whose TMG as previously offered a Corneille´s Cid that showed characters made of ice, suggests that any of us may be manipulated as are the figures of these galant tales. La Fontaine appears here both as a poet and a keen observer of the human comedy. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 17 march to 22 april 2011 | Rated 6 Years Old Upset by the sweets abuse of his little patient, a dentist decides to abandon his kids for a while on the parking lot of a supermarket. His wife is opposed to such behaviour and a string of figures show up to discuss the case. Will Hansel and Gretel find their way in this urban jungle ? They end in Miss Karembare´s boutique, a lonely sorceress, stupid but not peculiarly evil, that wants to be pregnant. On their side, wandering through a carnival, the parents, full of remorse, discover the boredom of a life without children. Tender and sassy as was "La Sorcière du placard aux balais", created at the TMG, this contemporary version of "Hansel and Gretel", famous tale of the Grimm brothers, becomes here a modern and humorous drama. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 25 april to 23 may 2011 | Rated 4 Years Old A young lonesome wolf that never came across a rabbit, finds a bunny that has never seen a wolf. How would they know that they are supposed to be enemies ? They will become friends. How to deal with our anxiety when faced to the unknown ? Discovering the other is like betting on friendship, without mentioning the simple pleasure of being together. Blockbuster of the children literature, this book by the famous illustrator Grégoire Solotareff, is transposed here, thanks to the author, into a colorful and refined story. In a mobile decor, wonders and fantasia mix with situations daily experienced by children. This creation follows the successful "Ne m´appelez plus jamais mon petit lapin", showed at the TMG in 2009, another story that celebrated friendship. Book your seats | More info (in french)  From 30 may to 3 june 2011 | For Teens / Adults In the land of Kate Middleton and Prince William, a long-term unemployed try his chance in a TV show and wins a trip to Afghanistan. There he meets Nigel, a puppeteer who works for the army, helping to distract the coalition troops in their war against the Taliban. After assisting the artist, Emil goes for a camel trip. But the animal takes him to Tora Bora where hides the mysterious Punch Bin Laden. The complete cast of the English puppet theatre "Punch and Judy" is transposed into the afghan conflict. During this journey, we get to meet a U.N.O. peacekeeper that unveils terrorists, a tricky camel renter as well as a crocodile bags seller. The actor and puppeteer Neville Tranter who has previously offered us at the TMG "Cuniculus" and "Vampyr" uses the colorful language of the traditional Punch and Judy performance to confront cynicism and naivety.
